Safety & Trust

How listings are checked, how to report a problem, and what to look at before you pay anyone.

What we do

The checks every listing goes through.

Reviewed before it goes live

Every listing passes a review queue before anyone can see it. Misleading prices, fake photos and bait listings are what it is there to catch.

Contact details behind sign-in

A poster’s phone number or email is only shown to signed-in members who ask for it, which keeps it away from scrapers.

Rules confirmed on every post

Posters agree to the posting rules each time they publish — no scams, no harassment, no fake identities, nothing illegal.

Repeat offenders lose access

Reported listings are checked by a person. Rule-breaking posts come down, and accounts that keep breaking the rules lose posting access.

Review lowers the risk; it cannot remove it. GenZ Link introduces you to the person behind a listing and is not party to any deal you make, so the checks below are still yours to do.

Four rules that prevent most problems

Whatever you are looking for, start here.

1

Meet in person, in public

Inspect the room, the vehicle or the shop before any money changes hands. Go in daylight, bring someone with you if you can, and tell someone else where you are going.

2

Never pay in advance

No genuine landlord, seller or employer needs a deposit, booking fee or registration fee before you have seen the place or signed anything. Being asked for one is the clearest sign of a scam.

3

Check the paperwork

Blue book and ownership transfer for vehicles, a written agreement and proof of ownership for rentals, registration and records for businesses. Real sellers have them ready.

4

Trust your instincts

If a price is far below market, the story keeps changing or someone is rushing you, slow down. Walking away costs nothing; report the listing and we will review it.

Category by category

What to check for the kind of deal you are making.

Accommodation

  • See the place in person before paying anything — including a “booking fee” to hold it.
  • Confirm the person showing it owns it or is authorised to let it, and ask to see proof.
  • Put the rent, deposit, what is included and the notice period in a written agreement.
  • Get a receipt for every payment, deposit included.

Jobs

  • Never pay for a job offer — not for training, a uniform, registration or a “processing fee”.
  • Interview at the real workplace or somewhere public, and look the business up first.
  • Be wary of high pay for little work, or an offer made without any interview at all.
  • Share copies of your documents, never the originals, and get the terms of the offer in writing.

Vehicles

  • Check the blue book is in the seller’s name and the chassis and engine numbers match it.
  • Make sure tax and renewal are up to date before you agree a price.
  • Test ride in daylight, in a public place, and have a mechanic look if you are unsure.
  • Hand over the full payment only with the keys and the blue book, and complete the ownership transfer.

Business

  • Verify the registration, and that the seller is the person it names.
  • Ask for the real financials — sales records, bank statements and tax filings — not a summary.
  • Read the premises lease and confirm the landlord will allow the transfer to you.
  • Ask about loans, unpaid rent and supplier dues, and have the agreement checked professionally.

Report a listing

If a listing looks like a scam, breaks the rules or someone behind it has made you feel unsafe, tell us. Reports go to our review team and are read by a person.

  1. From the listing: press Report, pick the reason that fits and add any details that will help us check it.
  2. By email: if you cannot use the button, send a link to the listing and what happened to report@genzlinkapp.com.

What happens next

  • We review the listing against the rules and the reason you gave.
  • If it breaks them, it is taken down for everyone.
  • Accounts that repeatedly break the rules lose posting access.
  • If you have already lost money or feel in danger, contact the police as well — removing a listing cannot recover a payment.
